The Town Council has three grant programmes.
The objective of the Small Grants Programme is to support and encourage a diverse range of youth and community activities, initiatives and events that meet the needs of Stroud Parish residents. We provide small grants to organisations of between £50 and £500.
We also offer Community Support Fund Grants of between £500 and £3,000 to help groups and organisations that work to strengthen Stroud’s community.
The Arts and Culture Fund provides grants of between £500 and £5,000 (normally no more than £3,000) for projects and events that will benefit people in Stroud parish through cultural activity.
As our grant funds are often oversubscribed, we recommend that applicants explore as many other funding opportunities as possible, to ensure that we can support as many groups and projects as possible. We recommend that you look at the comprehensive list of grant funding available in Gloucestershire published on the Gloucestershire VCS Alliance website, where you can also sign up for regular updates.
If your application is for a service or event which benefits residents beyond our parish boundary, we also recommend that you approach the relevant parish councils for a share of the costs.
All of our grant programmes favour applications for support for activities that build the capacity of community groups to support themselves. In addition the Council is keen to support projects that fight and prevent racism and xenophobia. Decisions on grant awards are made by the Town Council's Finance, Community and Policy Committee, at three meetings each year. Applications must be received no later than 3 weeks before the relevant meeting.
