Our lively market town lies deep within beautiful limestone valleys, tucked amongst the glorious scenery of the Cotswolds Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Artists and crafts people have flocked to Stroud for many years allowing our town centre to offer a fantastic range of independent shops and excellent eateries.
Every week we host the award-winning Stroud Shambles Open Air & Indoor Markets (Fridays and Saturdays) and Stroud Farmers' Market (Saturdays) offering the best and freshest of our local area. And throughout the year there are arts festivals, craft trails and workshops for all to enjoy.
Our Museum in the Park with its Art Gallery and Walled Garden houses our local history from woolly mammoths to woollen mills and puts on a varied programme of events for all ages.
At the heart of Stroud lies our wonderful Subscription Rooms. Housed in a beautiful Cotswolds limestone building this entertainment hub offers world-class drama, music, dance, exhibitions and a great cup of coffee.
Stroud offers excellent walking for all abilities and a stroll along the Cotswolds Canals that run through the heart of our town is a fascinating journey along a secret corridor of wildlife and history. The canal visitor centre can help you plan anything from a 20 minute stroll to long distance hike.
