Stroud Subscription Rooms

Stroud Subscription Rooms, affectionately known as The Sub Rooms, is a Grade 2 listed building built in 1833.

In 2019 the building was transferred from Stroud District Council to Stroud Town Council. It is now managed by The Stroud Subscription Rooms Trust, a Charitable Incorporated Organisation, who lease the building from the town council.

There are a lot of changes planned for The Sub Rooms including increased community engagement and an exciting renovation project. The building was originally built by public subscription and a new generation of Sub-Scribers are now donating what they can to help the trust achieve their goals.

Aside from offering an innovative programme of music, dance, theatre, visual arts, spoken word, exhibitions and workshops the historic venue provides flexible rooms and spaces to hire for your event.
