Serving the people of Stroud Town to create a thriving, sustainable community

Play Areas and Playing Fields

Daisy Bank, the High Street play area, The Leazes playing field, Uplands playing field and Park Gardens play area

Play equipment in Uplands Playing Field

These sites provide a range of equipment and play opportunities suitable to the site and the needs of the local community.

Play equipment and other structures on these sites will be subject to periodic safety inspections and routinely maintained to ensure that they are safe for users.

We carry out twice-weekly visual checks on the sites and equipment and recorded inspections every three weeks. An independent annual inspection is also carried out.

There is a shortage of outdoor playspaces in Stroud measured against the National Playing Fields Association (NPFA) 5-acre standard for: sports pitches, non-pitch sports, and children's playspace. Several areas in the town have no access to play areas within the recommended distances. Whilst monitoring and maintenance of existing facilities is our priority, we will improve and extend on existing facilities and provide facilities on new sites when funding is available.
