Urgent Notice: Field Road Closure - Respect Barriers for Your Safety

Residents and drivers are reminded to respect the ongoing road closure on Field Road due to damage to the road surface . Despite clear signage, some individuals have been moving barriers and ignoring closure signs, putting themselves and others at risk.

Drivers ignoring closure signs may invalidate their vehicle insurance, leaving them financially vulnerable in case of an accident.

The lower section of the closure has been lifted, but the section above Park Road to Bowbridge Lane remains closed for safety reasons and whilst ongoing below ground investigations continue. Gloucestershire County Council Highways team regularly reinspect and re-erect barriers.

"We understand the inconvenience, but these closures are in place for a reason," said Helen Bojaniwska (Town Clerk/CEO). "We urge everyone to respect the closures and find alternative routes."
