Lansdown Hall Improvement Project

Visualisation of the new entrance from Bank Gardens

The Town Council has exciting plans for improvements at Lansdown Hall to make this heritage building more accessible and welcoming. These include improving community safety by creating new illuminated paths in Bank Gardens - improving community safety and creating a level route from the town centre to a new entrance to the hall. This will enable all visitors to come in through the same door.

The plans also include an improved kitchen and bar to support wider use of the hall for community events and much-needed new toilets with more space created by building a new floor over the old entrance stairs.

The project will use sustainable materials and features where possible to preserve the heritage of the building and make it fit for the future.

The plans have been approved by Stroud District Council. You can view the planning documents on their website using application references S.20/2480/LBC and S.20/2479/FUL. The Council has set aside match funding for this project with the aim of securing external grants to make it a reality.
