Grants and Funding
The Town Council has the following grant programmes to support and encourage events, organisations and projects which benefit the community in Stroud Town:
Small Grants
To support and encourage a diverse range of youth and community activities, initiatives and events that meet the needs of Stroud Parish residents. Grants between £50 and £500.
Community Support Fund
To help groups and organisations that work to strengthen Stroud's community. Grants between £500 and £3,000.
Arts and Culture Fund
To support public events and projects that will benefit people in Stroud parish through art and cultural activity. Grants between £500 and £5,000 (normally no more than £3,000).
Environment Fund
To provide funding towards projects where a primary aim is to reduce CO2 emissions from households, organisations or individuals in Stroud. The total funding available is £10000. Although a limit per grant has not been set it is hoped that we will be able to fund several projects from this fund.
As our grant funds are often oversubscribed, we recommend that applicants explore as many other funding opportunities as possible, to ensure that we can support as many groups and projects as possible. We recommend that you look at the comprehensive list of grant funding available in Gloucestershire published on the Gloucestershire VCS Alliance website, where you can also sign up for regular updates.
If your application is for a service or event which benefits residents beyond our parish boundary, we also recommend that you approach the relevant parish councils for a share of the costs.
You are advised to ensure your application is received in good time and preferably before the deadline to enable us to resolve any issues promptly. If you have any queries about the grant process or wish to discuss your project, please contact the office on 01453 762817 or by emailing council@stroudtown.gov.uk.
All of our grant programmes favour applications for support for activities that build the capacity of community groups to support themselves. In addition, the Council is keen to support projects that fight and prevent racism and xenophobia.
Applications must be received no later than 3 weeks before the relevant meeting.

Ward Specific Projects
The town Council has had a 'Ward Specific Project' budget since 2011. There are six wards in the parish and for the year 2024/25, each has up to £500 available. How this is spent is at the discretion of the Town Councillors. If you have a project which benefits your community, please contact your ward councillors.
