The winner of Stroud Town Council’s Road Safety Week competition has been announced.
Mark Treacher’s winning banner is now on display on Merrywalks footbridge for Road Safety Week.
The design has also be turned into bumper stickers, which are available from the Town Council Offices.
The simple but effective design is eye-catching and modern, using a text-speak style.
It combines with a suite of other designs Mark has created as part of the Bisley Old Road campaign against speeding traffic, focusing on creating a very local impact, but looking outwards in an acknowledgement that speeding is an issue across the county and the country.
Speeding has specifically been identified as an important factor in cycle safety, which the road safety charity Brake are choosing to focus on for their 2018 campaign.
The Town Council will be lobbying the Police to undertake more enforcement work and exploring other options to address concerns.
