On Saturday March 3, a new apple orchard will be created at The Long Ground, a piece of land between Cainscross Road near Homebase and the back of Tesco.
The land is owned by Stroud Town Council and the event is being staged by the Stroud Apple Town Group including Stroud Valleys Project and Gloucestershire Orchard Group.
“Everyone is welcome and you can stay as long as you like,” said town councillor Ben Spencer. “We will supply all the tools and materials. It should be a great day and we will create an orchard the entire town can enjoy – and fruit that people can help themselves to.”
The planting is from 11am-1pm. To find out more contact Ben Spencer on 07960 712609.
