The Friends of Daisy Bank are staging a Fun Day on Saturday July 4 to raise funds for a roundabout.
“We had a roundabout, but it was vandalised and we had to remove it,” said Hayley Shortt, chairperson of the Friends of Daisy Bank.
“We want to buy one that is all inclusive and can be used by any child. It will cost £5,000 and we are about half way there.”
The Fun Day, from 1-4pm, will include circus skills, craft workshops, live music and food.
The Friends had a new ‘all-inclusive’ basket swing installed, which was bought with support from Stroud Town Council.
Two years ago the Friends of Daisy Bank and the Town Council began consultations about how to improve the play area.
Since then parents and the town council have been working in partnership.
Hayley said it is proving a great success with more and more children enjoying the play area and the equipment.
