On May 7 voters will go to the polls for the General election and also to election members on county, district and town councils.
The last day for registration is April 20. The deadline for postal vote applications is April 21 and April 28 is the last date for proxy vote applications.
Since the law changed in June last year, everyone is now responsible for their own registration, rather than registering as a household.
Anyone who has changed their address or is a new voter needs to make sure that they are registered. Not being on the electoral register could also affect your credit rating.
Registering can be done online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote. Those registering will need to provide their date of birth and national insurance number. Anyone without internet can contact the elections team on 01453 754886.
