The Town Council is providing £19,000 towards the project. It’s the final part of a 10-year programme to improve Stroud’s play areas. Over £300,000 has been invested in eight sites and the council now owns or manages 24 open spaces in the town. This work was selected as one of people’s top priorities in our Town Survey.
We hope the Summer Crescent scheme will be completed by next Spring. Stroud District Council is providing £28,000 towards the work. It recently had to step in to provide an additional £9,000 after the government withdrew its funding to meet it’s budget deficit, despite initially telling residents that the funding was in place.
